Teaching

I teach undergraduate and graduate courses about comparative politics, political institutions, electoral systems and political parties, and post-communist politics. I have delivered lectures in person or via videoconferencing at Baku Slavic University (Azerbaijan), European University (Russia), Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (Ukraine), Kyiv School of Economics (Ukraine), National University of Mongolia, Osh State University (Kyrgyzstan), Qavqaz University (Azerbaijan), St. Petersburg State University - School of International Relations (Russia), Ukrainian Academy of International Trade, Ukrainian Catholic University, University of Belgrade (Serbia), University of Oslo (Norway), Vilnius University (Lithuania), and Western University (Azerbaijan). In 2007, I taught and conducted research at Ivan Franko National University (Ukraine) while on a Fulbright Fellowship.

POLS 450 - Elections and Political Parties Around the World. An upper-level undergraduate course covering election rules and their consequences.

POLS 150 - Introduction to Comparative Politics. An introductory lecture course covering political culture and institutions across the globe.

POLS 151 - Introduction to Comparative Politics (Honors). The honors version of POLS 150 addresses similar topics in a seminar format. In 2004 and 2005, I taught a special version of POLS 151 incorporating videoconferencing and collaborative assignments with students from KU, National University of Mongolia, Osh State University (Kyrgyzstan), and Western University (Azerbaijan).
